December 4, 2009- Well, here we are approaching week 13 in the 2009 NFL season. Man, this season is flying by! The last 12 weeks of NFL football have been filled with exciting games and performances from some of the NFL's best players and a new crop of rookies.

We now know what some of these rookie can do as they are nearing the end of their first year in the NFL. And one of those 2009 rookies is the Minnesota Vikings sensation Percy Harvin. He is coming off a fabulous performance against the Vikings rivals, the Chicago Bears last sunday (week 12). Percy Harvin had 6 catches for 101 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings 36-10 blowout of the Bears. Harvin has helped lead the Minnesota Vikings to a 10-1 record and are a prime team to represent the NFC in this year's Super Bowl. Although the New Orleans Saints may have something to say about that.

Percy Harvin has been absolutely remarkable at returing kick-offs and punts in his rookie season. Here is his total 2009 numbers through week 12, according to the Pro-Football-Reference website. Harvin has returned 31 kicks/punts for 924 yards, and scored 2 touchdowns, including a 101 yard return for a score. Simply put, this kid has been amazing in 2009. And his rookie cards are on fire as well!

October 25, 2009- NFL football rookie cards are more popular than ever right now. Especially with the 2009 season in full swing and some of the new rookie class playing well.

Mark Sanchez was the New York Jets 5th pick of the 2009 NFL draft and the Jets' fans are expecting a lot out of the former USC quarterback. Quite a bit to ask a 22 year old kid. But Sanchez has played well overall except when he laid an egg last week against the Miami Dolphins. In that game Sanchez threw five interceptions with no touchdowns.

Today the Jets demolished the Oakland Raiders 38-0 and Mark Sanchez played better. He didn't have a great game numbers-wise, but he did rush for a touchdown and he didn't throw any interceptions. Yeah, I know it was the garbage Raiders that the Jets were playing. But I'll tell you this. Mark Sanchez has been in the NFL for all of seven weeks and he is already better than the opposing quarterback he faced today in JaMarcus Russell. Russell is so horrible as an NFL quarterback.

Mark Sanchez rookie cards are selling well on eBay. So, that tells you that football fans everywhere believe that the Jets' young quarterback has a lot of upside.

Michael Crabtree Rookie Cards

The San Francisco 49ers had the 10th pick in the 2009 NFL draft. They chose Texas Tech wide recevier Michael Crabtree. The 49ers' fans were really excited about getting Crabtree.

But things didn't start out too well between Crabtree and the Niners at first. The 49ers and Michael Crabtree could not agree on a contract. So, Crabtree held out and he missed training camp and the first six games of the 2009 football season.

Well, that all changed...finally. Crabtree and the 49ers agreed on a contract a few weeks back and yesterday, he played in his first NFL game as the Niners were playing the Houston Texans in Houston.

Crabtree got his feet wet as he had five cathes for 56 yards. The 49ers benched Shaun Hill and brought in 2005 draft bust (So far) Alex Smith. Smith played well as he brought the 49ers back. But they ended up losing to the Texans 24-21. I noticed that today on ESPN, they were saying that Alex Smith and Crabtree work well together. That's good news for Niners' fans.

Now to good part. Collecting Michael Crabtree rookie cards. Now that he is playing, his rookie cards should start to heat up. And, like always, if he plays well, they should remain hot. Crabtree's 2009 Topps Chrome Rookie Auto card is selling really well right now. You should pick up a few for your collection.

Percy Harvin Rookie Cards

The Minnesota Vikings look like they got a steal when they drafted Percy Harvin with the #22 pick of the 2009 NFL draft.

Harvin has been great and seems to be getting better each week. Yesterday, Percy Harvin ran a kick off back 88 yards for a touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Harvin also had three catches for 42 yards. The Vikings suffered their first loss of the 2009 NFL season, 27-17, to the Steelers.

Percy Harvin rookie cards are a solid buy right now on eBay and should stay hot as he, Favre and Adrian Peterson play for an NFL title.

2009 NFL Week 8 Results

Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings-The biggest game of week 8 of the NFL season yesterday was Brett Favre returning to Green Bay to play his former Packers team. Just in case you have been living in a cave, Brett Favre is now the quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings. Which makes it double worse for Packers fans because the Vikings are a hated team in Green Bay, Wisconsin. BIG RIVALRY!

Brett Favre and his Vikings dominated the Packers at Lambeau Field and won by the score of 38-26. Favre is playing very well as the Vikings QB and Minnesota is running away with their division as they now sit at 7-1 for the season. Brett had 244 passing yards with 4 touchdowns and no interceptions against his former team that he spent 16 seasons with. Running back Adrian Peterson ran for 97 yards on 25 rushing attempts. The Vikings have such a talented team with Favre, Adrian Peterson and rookie Percy Harvin. Harvin is a monster and his rookie cards are really starting to heat up. So you might want to pick up a few now while there still affordable.

The Green Bay Packers should not feel like they made a mistake in letting Brett Favre go back in 2008 because Aaron Rodgers is a really good quarterback. And it was time to give their 2005 NFL draft pick the keys to the car, so to speak. Rodgers gets no protection from his offensive line as he is always running for his life. He is probably having nightmares about the Vikings' Jared Allen, who sacked Rodgers 3 times yesterday and 4 times in their previous game at the Metrodome in Minnesota.

Still, Aaron Rodgers put up some good numbers in yesterday's game. He passed for 287 yards and threw 3 touchdowns and had no interceptions. Just imagine his numbers if his offensive line can start protecting him better. He would be scary good!

New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles-What happened to the New York Giants football team? They have lost three games in a row and have been dominated lately. Including last sunday against their NFC rival Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles absolutely destroyed the Giants by the score of 40-17. Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb had a great game with 240 passing yards with 3 touchdowns and no interceptions. Eagles' second year wide reveiver DeSean Jackson had a solid game with 3 catches for 78 yards and a touchdown. Jackson is the real deal and he is a huge weapon for McNabb and the Eagles. By the way, LeSean Jackson rookie cards can be found in 2008 football boxes and packs. You might want to pick up a few of his rookies. Rookie running back LeSean McCoy had a good game as well for the Eagles. He rushed for 82 yards on 11 rushing attempts and had 1 touchdown.

Meanwhile, Giants' quarterback Eli Manning didn't have a very good game. Manning passed for 222 yards with a touchdown. But he threw 2 interceptions that were killers for the New York Giants. The Giants started the 2009 NFL season going 5-0. But with their 3 game losing streak, they now sit at 5-3 and they need to get it together quickly before they fall out of playoff contention. The Giants will limp home and play the San Diego Chargers next week at Giants Stadium. The Eagles have another huge rivalry game in week 9. They will be playing Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys next week in Dallas.
